Senior Associate – HCT & Prevention
Location: Abuja, Akwa Ibom, Benue, Kaduna, Gombe and Cross River, & Kogi
Incumbent supports HCT program objectives, drawing plans and
overseeing the implementation of the care and support service delivery
in line with the guidelines and national plans on care and support
● Will liaise with others on the relevant care and support activities
implemented at the CBOs and health facilities, provide support, build
and strengthen community based structures and systems through which
services are delivered● Works with MOHs and other state agencies to
design and put in place a strong supervision system for HIV/AIDS Testing
and counseling (HCT) sites
● Strengthens quality assurance
(QA) for both HIV testing and counseling for mobile, and community
based rapid counseling and testing (RCT) services
● Ensures that programs are adequately documented.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Ability: A degree in Public Health, Nursing or related discipline
● At least 3 years’ post NYSC experience in HIV testing and
counseling, sexually transmitted disease prevention or treatment
programs, including program planning, implementation and evaluation
● Professional training and extensive knowledge in HIV/AIDS
counseling, testing, practices and procedures; particularly in care and
support of People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA)
● Ability to ensure that the highest standards of quality and client care are achieved
● Experience of dealing with difficult and sensitive situations in a diplomatic and professional manner.
Senior Clinical Services Associate (Pediatrics)
Location: Kaduna and Kogi
Incumbent serves as a resource for the evaluation of ongoing pediatric
care and treatment programs, and subsequent development of new and/or
expanded programs for the care and treatment of HIV/AIDS in infants,
children, and teenagers ●Perform site visits and assessments of
treatment facilities to assess, initiate, and enhance pediatric care and
treatment services
●Develop linkages with PMTCT programs to ensure follow-up of HIV-exposed infants
●Support the identification of early infant diagnostic testing
initiatives, HIV-exposed and infected children including pediatric
testing programs, pediatric HIV testing in adult clinics, linkages with
VC, etc.
●Provide technical support with other clinical service officers and related technical program units.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Ability: A degree in Public Health, Nursing or a strongly related discipline is required
● At least 3 years’ post NYSC clinical experience in HIV/AIDS care and antiretroviral treatment
●Experience in managing Pediatric patients and health care program
development ●Excellent grasp of clinical issues and current literature
in Pediatrics, HIV/AIDS
● Training facilitation experience
an added advantage technical support to facility staff in HIV/AIDS
prevention, care and treatment.
Senior Clinical Service Associate (Palliative Care)
Location: Abuja
Incumbent will provide technical support for multidisciplinary
HIV/AIDS care and treatment, working with organization clinicians and
health facility- based site teams to implement palliative care services
to HIV/AIDS clients.
●Support the strengthening of
leadership capacity of the supported facilities in the coordination with
all stakeholders to ensure access to quality palliative care for HIV
patients, to provide supervision on planning and implementation of all
aspect of Home based care and palliative care that are consistent with
the national HIV/AIDS plan in Nigeria.
● Ensure the provision of quality services to VCs, PABAs and People Living with HIV.
●Ensure coordination and linkages of HIV services including Tuberculosis, Malaria and other diseases
● Provide support for quality assurance and quality improvement at the facilities.
●Provision of ongoing mentoring and hands on supervision to site
clinicians for effective services delivery ●Render technical support to
facility staff in HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment.
Qualifications & Skills, Knowledge & Ability: Degree in Medicine, Nursing, Public Health or a related field
● At least 3 years’ post NYSC experience working on international
health issues including HIV, with at least two years working on HIV/AIDS
counseling and testing programs in international or resource poor
settings.
● Ability to work independently with strong problem solving skills
● Ability to foresee problems and initiate appropriate action
● Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and make reasoned judgments in a timely fashion.
● Experience of dealing with difficult and sensitive situations in a diplomatic and professional manner
